Terms — owner review draft

Current service

Elsewhere helps Travelers discover original travel guides and keep acquired itineraries in My Guides. V1 offers free acquisition. Checkout, subscriptions, payments, payouts, paid advice, AI customization and booking services are not enabled. No payment, subscription or refund terms are presented as live.

Accounts and responsibilities

One account starts with Traveler access. Becoming a Guide requires an explicit opt-in on that same account. Keep account information accurate, protect your password and recovery key, and do not access another person’s account or private content. Eligibility requirements, including any applicable age and jurisdiction restrictions, must be finalized by the operator before launch.

Original content and publishing

Guides retain ownership of their original itineraries and media. Publish only material reflecting your own experience that you own or have permission to use. The publication declaration records that confirmation; it is not an independent verification by Elsewhere.

The intended platform permission is limited to hosting, processing, displaying published previews, and providing acquired guide copies through Elsewhere. A final content licence and its duration must be reviewed and adopted by the operator before these terms become final. Acquiring a guide does not transfer copyright or permission to republish it.

Acceptable use and moderation

Do not upload unlawful, abusive, deceptive, infringing, or privacy-invasive material; impersonate others; interfere with the service; or bypass access restrictions. Published guides have a Report Content action. Authorized administrators can review reports, suspend Guide capabilities, and unpublish content. Traveler and Guide permissions are separate.

Free guides and saved copies

Saving for later is a bookmark, not a claim. Claiming a free guide creates persistent access to a saved version in the Traveler’s account. Duplicate claims do not create duplicate copies. Guide edits and unpublishing do not remove copies already acquired by other travelers. Travelers’ actions do not overwrite a Guide’s original content.

Travel information and availability

Itineraries reflect the Guide’s recommendations. Check current opening hours, route and weather conditions, reservations and local requirements before traveling. Directions use saved coordinates and external map services; the application does not invent routes or travel times. Elsewhere does not make bookings or guarantee third-party services.

This is an early, capacity-limited MVP. Availability and media storage are limited; videos are short uploads rather than unlimited hosting. Final service commitments, liability provisions and dispute terms require owner review.

Account closure and retained copies

Account settings provide sign-out, recovery-key management and confirmed account deletion. Deletion removes the profile and personal access and revokes sessions. Authored guides are unpublished; acquired copies and necessary media remain for other travelers under Former Guide attribution. Moderation and transaction records may be retained where necessary. Account or Guide capabilities may be restricted for misuse; final notice and appeal procedures require review.

Operator, contact and applicable terms

The operator identity, working contact address, governing law, dispute process and final acceptance wording have not been confirmed. A proposed B.V. name is not a registered company claim. These matters are public-launch blockers. This draft must be reviewed before being presented as final Terms of Service or before paid itineraries are introduced.
